The beautiful landscape of Buitenzorg (officially name of Bogor during Dutch colonization era) lured the Colonial Government to construct a palace there by the end of 18th century. This city, approximately 50 kilometers away from Jakarta, has an extensive history since the earliest Hindu Kingdom in Nusantara (the name of Indonesian archipelago during the olden days). Bogor was the capital city of the kingdom. Sir Stamford Raffles, the deputy Governor General of British India Company was astonished by the charm of the city and decided to build the first modern botanical garden in Indonesia. To enjoy the serenity and the wonder of the garden, a free picnic time is provided at a suggested cozy spot (if the weather permits). The guests will have a chance to visit the Presidential Museum to see the presidential collections, the park and its reindeer’s.
